British Airways Interior Engineering 7 November

British Airways Interior Engineering Ltd. (BAIE) is an innovative, customer focused organisation. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways plc. The company was established in 1996 to maintain aircraft cabin products such as passenger seats. In our short life we have doubled in size. Our commitment to business excellence has led to Investors in People recognition and winning the "Best New Entrant Prize" in 1999 and the "Service Sector Prize" in 2001 in the Wales Quality Award.

'Single Thread'

BAIE has built a simple but effective process that balances the art and sciences of strategy development. The process builds on the framework of the Business Excellence Model.

We use the Enablers themes to link the long-term vision to individual and team objectives through a 'single thread'.

'People Magic'

BAIE's drive for Business Excellence is built on a foundation of involvement, empowerment and teamwork. Critical Process Improvement such as recognition, managing improvement and continuous learning allow us to unleash the creativity of our colleagues. In this way we are balancing the ability to innovate with the strict legislative constraints of the aerospace industry. We call our approach `People Magic'.

This visit is run in conjunction with the Areospace Forum Wales
