Celebrating 25 years in 2004, Penn Pharmaceutical Services is one of the longest established pharmaceutical out-sourcing companies in the UK. Tredegar-based and employing over 200 people, most with extensive experience in the highly regulated pharmaceutical industry, Penn's clients include many of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, several new bio-technology and healthcare start-up companies. Penn provides a fully comprehensive, integrated product development service which includes formulation and Analytical development, clinical trial manufacturing, packaging and supply management, contract manufacture, CMC consultancy and QP release services. Clients can choose from the full range of pharmaceutical development services, or a single, standalone service. The visit will focus upon the management of 'change' at Penn over the six years since the first management buy-out during which time sales increased from £4.5M to £18.3M. A secondary buy-out took place in December 2004. Case studies will be presented to highlight Penn's strategic decision to develop its people, knowledge-base and processes to maintain client focus and support the overall business goals, thus ensuring the continued success of the company. Our commercial success is reflected in our recent awards: Queens' Award for Enterprise 2003 (International Trade category), Sunday Times Tech Track Listing, Deloitte Fast 50 Award, Investors in People, Green Dragon Award Level 5 award (2005 and 2006), ISO14001 accreditation January 2006, Penn's director of pharmaceutical services was also honoured as Welsh Woman of the Year (Science and Technology)

Cancellations
Inside Welsh Industry visits are free of charge, however, we are reserving the right to charge a cancellation fee of £50 where visitors who have booked, fail to attend the visit. We would encourage visitors who cannot attend to provide a substitute person in their place. This charge will cover the costs incurred setting up these visits

Visits cancelled by IWI
Should the visit be cancelled by , either at the request of the host company or due to insufficient visitor numbers, we will do our utmost to find you a suitable alternative.

Host company right of veto
The host company can veto the participation of competitors or any participant who is not deemed suitable to attend a visit.
